What is Tyro Health Online Payments?

Tyro Health Online Payments (THOP) enables you to process debit and credit card payments digitally without a physical EFTPOS machine. Simply initiate a card payment as part of an associated claim or as a standalone payment transaction.

  • Are digital payments made through Tyro Health Online safe?

    Any payments made digitally through Tyro Health Online are safe and secure for both your business, and your patients, for the following reasons:

    1. All payments take place through our secure payments gateway, which utilises the highest standards of data encryption and tokenisation to secure all information during a transaction.

    2. You can request payment via our built-in SMS and email payment link capability – allowing your patients to enter their card details on their own device or use the connivence of Apple Pay or Google Pay, adding a further layer of tokenisation to their payment.

  • What are payment links?

    Payment links allow Tyro Health customers to create a link for a one-off transaction through Tyro Health Online’s payment capability. The link allows a patient to make the payment online through a simple check out experience.

  • Are there any fees to send a payment link to my patient?

    There are no fees to create and send payment links. You’re only charged our simple and transparent transaction fee for any payment accepted using Tyro Health Online Payments.

  • What payment types are available with payment links?

    Tyro Health Online payment links accepts Mastercard, Visa, and digital wallet payments via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  • What is a MOTO payment?

    A MOTO (also known as mail order, telephone order) payment is a type of card-not-present (CNP) transaction which occur when the cardholder does not physically present the card at the time of payment or where the transactions are processed via telephone, internet, mail or mobile device and the card number is manually entered.

    Tyro Health Online Payments is an ideal solution for healthcare providers who conduct Telehealth appointments, want to follow up outstanding invoices or simply don’t want the clutter of a physical EFTPOS machine.
