This option is ideal for in-person processing of Medicare rebates and bulk billing patient Medicare claims.

With Tyro EFTPOS, you also have access to our multi-merchant facility, which allows multiple providers to share a single EFTPOS device that allows Medicare claims to be raised at a provider level.

Some of the great features of Medicare Easyclaim include:

Are there any additional fees involved?

No. No additional bank transaction fees are charged when using Medicare Easyclaim. This applies to both providers and their patients. Standard EFTPOS charges will still apply, including the cost of renting a device.

What cards can be used for Easyclaim rebates?

Cards that are branded eftpos or permit you to select eftpos savings (SAV) or cheque (CHQ) when inserted in a payment terminal or ATM, that card can be used for Easyclaim rebates. Read more about instant rebates and supported cards here.

Is DVA claiming available with Easyclaim?

No. DVA claiming via Tyro EFTPOS is not available. This type of claim can only be completed via Tyro Health Online.

Medicare Online claiming with Tyro Health Online

Our cloud solution, Tyro Health Online, enables you to send bulk billed and patient claims to Medicare. This is ideal for providers who want to automatically claim with Medicare, without the need for an EFTPOS device or their patient’s physical Medicare card.

Our Medicare integration supports General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, Dentists and Allied Healthcare Professionals, and provides the ability to lodge claims for:

  • General and referred services;
  • Permitted telehealth scenarios;
  • Dental scenarios (Child Dental Benefits Scheme) – please ensure you’re familiar with DHS rules applicable to this scheme
  • Permitted remote, regional, residential aged care facility, in-home, after-hours and other out of consultation room scenarios;
  • Hospital inpatient (admitted) scenarios;
  • Simple pathology services by qualified providers; and
  • Overrides and exceptions: duplicate service overrides, aftercare overrides, restrictive overrides and multiple attendance
Medicare Bulk Bill

With Medicare bulk bill, providers can claim for eligible services billed at Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) rates and receive payments direct from Medicare.

Medicare Patient Claim

With Medicare private patient claims, providers can charge for eligible services at or above the MBS rates and have benefits paid by Medicare to patients or claimants. Patients must pay for the service prior to claiming, but usually receive their benefit payment by the next business day and do not need to submit a claim to Medicare.

DVA claiming

Tyro Health Online enables you to raise claims with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) for straight-through processing and fast payment.

Our DVA integration is offered via Medicare, so if you enable a provider for Medicare, we automatically enable you for DVA claims also. The following are the exceptions which require a special call to DVA:

  • Neuropsychologists
  • Social Workers (generalist)
  • Optical dispensers
  • Lymphoedema providers
